At the Swedish Migration Agency, we work with one of the major societal issues of our time – migration. We are about 6,000 people here, and we have an unusually important job!
We are looking for migration officers for the asylum examination units in Boden.

What does a migration officer do?
As a migration officer, you work with processing, investigating, deciding, and drafting proposals for decisions in various types of cases. The decisions have legal effects for individuals and affect their rights to benefits, rights, and obligations. Additionally, you work with administration where you handle records and documents that have been received or created in a case. In your role, you meet and have conversations with individuals who have cases with the Migration Agency and other stakeholders. The conversations may involve informing about decisions or explaining the Migration Agency's processes, as well as guiding and providing service. You identify and address any special needs of individuals and, where applicable, hold conversations with adults and children in vulnerable situations.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who has good collaboration skills, is attentive, and resolves conflicts constructively. You are clear in your communication and ensure that messages are conveyed and that expectations are clear for all parties involved. Furthermore, you are structured and can independently plan and organize work effectively towards set goals and deadlines. You are flexible and can easily adapt and change your perspective and approach in altered circumstances.
In our work as civil servants, high demands are also placed on judgment and a strong awareness of security and confidentiality.
You who apply have
- A university education of at least 120 credits with a legal, social science, or behavioral science focus or other education combined with relevant experience for the role
- Knowledge of administrative law matters
- Experience in work requiring good service and professional treatment
- Good communication skills and express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English
- Good knowledge of the Office suite
It is meritorious if you have
- Current experience in working with administrative law matters
- Experience in case handling
